Conclusion

The bible brings a message. This message is specific to the Jewish people. This message has to be adapted day after day without denying the original message. This message has to be compared with scientific acquisitions. Scientific acquisitions have to enlighten the messages of the bible. The textual application of the bible led to Aushwitz, the application of the spirit of the bible led to Israel : The spirit of sacrifice is not vain and is present in the kibbutz, in the army, and even in some politicians. The spirit of the abolition of anthropomorphic idols is present in the replacement of prayer books by school books enabling the acquisition of modern scientific achievements by every Jewish child wherever he comes from. The spirit of hygiene (cacherouth) in the elaboration of the medical care results in one of the highest levels of age expectency despite the presence of war and terrorism. This underlines the importance of prevention in the medical organisation.

Instead of rejecting religion as a whole by the spirit of reason it would be better that the spirit of reason studies every single message of the bible revealing a fabulous treasure accumulated by generations of wisdom.

Why phylacteries? cardio-vasculare prevention?

Why shabbath? Psychophysiologic equilibrium?

Why circumcision?…Prevention of venerian diseases?

Why ritual baths?..Prevention of contagious diseases?

Why interdiction of idols, of superstition?

Why loving his neighbours?

etc…

Messages of the bible are only an introduction to a better world. One has to complete the knowledge of the bible with the knowledge of today to live a better, more equal and more tolerant world.

It has no sense to transpose jewish religion to other people. Other people have other sensibilities. But as the two main monotheïstic religions derive from the bible it is fundamental for people with other faiths to understand the root of their own religion. It is the application of the social relations resulting from that culture that gives a real idea of the jewish heritage in christianity and islam.

The jewish people is not a people of saints, but a normal people with qualities and darker sides. To succeed in the application of bible culture you don’t need to be a saint but just human. And if jews are worshipped they can only deceive. And the deceived ones become antisemites. Please stop admiring jews, especially those who died like Jesus on a cross or like my grandfather in a gas chamber. As a living surviver I can only deceive you.

But the example of the centuries old richness of our religion, if understood in its historical context, can bring a contribution to mankind in the fields of justice, education, hygiene and health.

As Einstein said : ” Nothing is miracle or everything is miracle “, everything is relative…

2/11/2001

Everything is tumbling down, everything vanishes, our hopes, our ideas, our confidence…

One week before 9/11 I was discussing with a colleague at a medical congress about the situation in the middle east. I was telling him that the events of the middle east could also happen in other countries. And just one week later the world falls down under our feet.

Jews are wrenched between the hammer and the anvil. On one side you find the leftists convinced that Jews are colonialist oppressors, and on the other side you find the rightists finding back their antisemitic tales in the arab propaganda machinery.

And of course if things turn wrong the Jews will be to blame…

My youngest son was mobbed during a little walk in a public park in Antwerp by Moroccan children throwing nuts to him and his fellow jewish scouts. Tomorrow grenades ?

Actually Islamism with its indoctrination, negation of the other, hatred, and death wish, resembles more and more to Nazism…It’s scaring to see islamist extremist movements nourished by moslim traditions terrorize moslim people and pushing them against democracy, liberty and progress.

Frightening is the television propaganda that almost succeeds in making us believe that the assassination of Israeli citizens is a normal phenomenon. ” they deserve it “. The same for 9/11, ” the Americans deserve it “. Instantly media coverage of 9/11 followed the American opinion of terrorist attack where Hamas and Islamic Jihad which are genuine terrorist organizations are not labelled as such.

The french ambassador has even the shamelessness to afirm that they are resistants !

I don’t know how to react, I have a bad feeling overwhelming me. I start understanding how our grand-parents felt when the Nazi trap smoothly closed itself above their head.

I fear restriction of liberty in name of the anti-terrorist actions

I fear antisemitic feelings accusing Jews to be responsible for the Palestinian hatred where in fact continuous Arab propaganda is responsible.

I fear limitation of movement.

I fear limitation of thoughts.

And I fear especially…stupidity…source of all prejudice and all crimes…

SARAH (1981)

Réveille-toi ma petite Sarah

Prends ton frère Chmoul avec toi

Sur les chemins de diaspora

Par la route de Treblinka

Rejoins vite Dov et Moshé

Sur la route près du gué

Car les mains de Mardochée

Tiennent un corps inanimé

Revenants ressuscitants

Trébuchant et frémissants, sanglotants et rugissants

Les âmes de Judée sont là comme une armée d’ombres

Des ombres des soldats, des soldats comme des ombres,

Pour sauver la Judée pour bâtir Jérusalem

Bechana haba biyerouchalayim, l’an prochain à Jérusalem

  1. Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this website. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s challenging to get that “perfect balance” between usability and appearance. I must say that you’ve done a fantastic job with this. Also, the blog loads extremely fast for me on Internet explorer. Exceptional Blog!|
